About Mini Sheepadoodles

Mini Sheepadoodle Generations

F1 Generation 

The F1 generation is the first generation of any hybrid breed. It’s created by breeding two purebreds from different breeds. In this case, a purebred Old English sheepdog is bred with a purebred miniature poodle.

This results in puppies that are 50% Old English sheepdog and 50% miniature poodle. The F1 generation is usually considered the healthiest because it has genes from both parent breeds, creating genetic diversity.

It also tends to have an even mix of characteristics from each breed, such as coat type and size. 

F1b Generation 

The F1b generation is created by breeding an F1 Sheepadoodle back to either a mini poodle or an Old English sheepdog (or sometimes both). This means that the puppies will be 75% poodle and 25% Old English sheepdog (or vice versa).

This generation is often chosen because its coat type tends to be more hypoallergenic than other generations due to its higher percentage of poodle genetics.

F1bb Generation 

The F1bb generation is created by breeding an F1b Sheepadoodle back to either a mini poodle or an Old English sheepdog (or sometimes both). This means that the puppies will be 87.5% poodle and 12.5% Old English sheepdog (or vice versa).

This generation often has curlier coats than other generations due to their higher percentage of poodle genetics, making them even more hypoallergenic than the F1b generation.
