Mini Aussiedoodle Generations

What does it mean when you hear about different generations of mini Aussiedoodles? Let’s take a look at the different generations and how they differ from one another. 

F1 Generation

The F1 generation is the most common type of Mini Aussiedoodle. It is what happens when a purebred Australian Shepherd is crossed with a purebred Poodle. The result is usually 50% Australian Shepherd, 50% Poodle, and 100% cuteness!

F1b Generation

An F1b generation mini Aussiedoodle is created when an F1 Mini Aussiedoodle (50/50 mix) is crossed with either a Toy or Miniature Poodle. This type of breeding results in 75% Poodle and 25% Australian Shepherd, resulting in a more hypoallergenic coat that sheds less than an F1 generation.

F2 Generation

An F2 generation Mini Aussiedoodle results from crossing two F1 Mini Aussiedoodles (50/50 mixes). They tend to be smaller than their predecessors and have wavier fur that doesn’t shed as much due to their higher poodle content.
